It was a blessing to hit the road again several times during this last month. I rolled through South Dakota and Nebraska, meeting with many churches and families; I had the opportunity to share the ministry vision and financial goals of the RMCChurch plant. It is one of my favorite things to sit with people and hear what God is doing in their churches and personal lives; then I get to fill them in on what God is doing in Kansas City!
The picture above was captured while I was preaching at The River of Life in Canton, SD. They are a wonderful group of people that God has brought together to spread his gospel and do his work! It was an honor to be able to do one of my other favorite things: preach the Gospel and open up the Scripture.
I was also able to preach at First Baptist in Polk, NE. It was a great to worship God together and have them get behind what God is doing in Kansas City.
One Story out of a Multitude: Local KC Man Fighting for Recovery
The picture above captures a local KC man in a recovery program in Canton, SD. The River of Life has a unique worship service where they will allow the people staying at a local in-house recovery program to come, hear and find hope and life in Jesus' gospel message.
After the worship service the young man came up and asked for help. He shared his battle with heroin and his multiple tries at getting clean. He said, "I know I desperately need Jesus. I need a miracle from God or else I'm going to lose the fight and die from these drugs." I told him I desperately need Jesus, too. We spent time together in prayer. In our time with God, all of us can find the encouragement and hope that is in Jesus.
