Every day is a new chance to explore, learn, and meet new people. As we enter into the new year, it is exciting to think about the new relationships we will build, but it is also fun to remember our relationships from the past.
Keeping up ties with family and old friends can be difficult. Yet we can hope to hold on to those bonds by continuing to remember those we met in the past year or even years before. Oftentimes we get distracted by the activities of our busy lives; we forget about the people who have had a part in our mundane routines. Who is someone who played a pivotal role in your 2016 life? Send him or her a text message (or mail a card) sharing the impact of their friendship. It is important to have a sense of community with the people around us--even simple acquaintances. It can be fun to explore new things and get caught up in the opportunities of the new year, but it is always good to sit with friends and reminisce for old times' sake.
